To begin with, we prepared a custom theme using Elementor and a huge amount of additional CSS and JS code, thanks to which we were able to create a design based on mock-ups in “pixel perfect” quality. Each page responsible for WooCommerce was written by hand without using Elementor. At the time we made the site, Elementor did not yet have many of the features it has now, so a lot of the code was even written from scratch. Contrary to appearances, Elementor is also a fairly fast tool, although not as fast as Gutenberg, it is an ideal compromise in terms of speed and functionality.

Just before the launch, as it turned out, the hosting proved not at all as scalable as its marketers promised. I will describe this as well as other hosting in another article.

At the end of the day, we had to move the entire infrastructure at the rate of a few hours to another environment. We chose Cloudways, where scaling is done using third-party cloud providers such as Google Cloud, Amazon Web Services or Digital Ocean.

In addition, we optimised the shop by including a Cache with various keys, and we also configured a tool (Redis Object Cache) with which database queries that are called again are stored in the cache. As it turned out, the solutions we used worked, as the shop sold out of everything it had in stock on the very first day and achieved extremely satisfactory sales.
